Approximately 1,000 people gathered at a memorial service in the Memorial Student Center amphitheater Thursday, November 3, 2016 to pay their respects to Hussain Saeed Alnahdi, the UW-Stout international student who was fatally injured in an attack early Sunday, Oct. 30, in downtown Menomonie.
The service, attended by members of the UW-Stout and Menomonie communities and beyond, included a prayer in Arabic, remembrances from Hussain's closest friends and teachers, words from University of Wisconsin System President Ray Cross and UW-Stout officials and a candlelight vigil.
